Virtual Experience and Campus Tour

We'd love to welcome you in person to our beautiful campus, but in response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, we have created a new virtual experience and campus tour. On this page, you can also take a virtual tour of Mason's art spaces with Rick Davis, Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts. (The virtual tour of School of Dance facilities starts at 5:58.)

Mason School of Dance student

Each semester, students explore new approaches to contemporary dance. You're welcome to observe a class and rehearsal during your visit.

Visiting us is an important step in your college search process.

Due to the nature of dance studies, it is important to feel inspired by your surroundings, by the faculty, and by the other majors. The energy of our studios needs to be felt, not described—it is a visceral experience that dancers understand well.

What Your Day Will Include

Plan a visit to Mason to get a sense of a typical day for our dance majors. After a meeting with our director, you'll tour our facilities, observe several technique classes, sit in on a rehearsal, and meet many of our students. Managing our demanding dance schedule with academics is a common question and can be quite challenging. Our dance majors will offer practical advice and perspective that will help explain how we operate. You'll leave having a strong sense of who we are and what it feels like to be a dance major at Mason.

We're at 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, VA  22030.

To schedule a visit with the School of Dance, contact us at dance@gmu.edu or call 703-993-1114.
