2017, Dance, BFA
I chose Mason because of the comfortable environment on campus. Whether it be comfort with living in the on-campus housing or the warm, familial feel of the dance department, Mason always feels like home. Also, the dance department knows all of the students by name and is very familiar with our strengths and weaknesses. This is very helpful since all of our professors work together to make sure we improve on what is necessary. Plus, all of the professors make sure that I am on track with maintaining progress, which I appreciate beyond belief. As a bonus, Mason has very strong academic departments outside of dance. Taking my general education courses and classes for my minor (Women and Gender Studies) is always challenging but so rewarding, eye-opening, and fun. I'm actually taking a course called Demonic Women in Japan for my Literature credit this semester. It counts for my Literature credit, my minor, and is by far my favorite academic course I've taken at Mason so far.
There's a lot Mason has to offer and I'm very blessed to be a part of it. Hopefully prospective students will be able to experience the Mason greatness, too.
